Last month we launched our Store to Store and Store to Door Send services, Yodel Direct. Leading the project were our Technical Delivery Manager, Jenny Harden, and Customer Experience Manager, Emma Drever who below discuss the challenges & rewards of implementing the new services, the level of detail involved and the importance of stakeholder communication & collaboration in order to make it all happen.

UK independent parcel carrier Yodel has launched a new consumer-to-consumer service via Yodel Direct, following a record year of growth for online retail. Customers will be able to ship parcels up to 60x50x50cm and weighing up to 10kg. Once a customer has booked a delivery online at www.yodeldirect.co.uk, they will be presented with a label to print from the comfort of their own home or a QR code which will allow them to print a label in store.

In January 2019, Yodel set out to revolutionise their hand-held devices, with a dedicated project team assembled from various departments across the business to create the Bring Your Own Device app.
